Thunderbird

“Thunderbird”  was inspired by a small, very faint pictograph image at Roche-A-Cri State Park in Wisconsin.

Created in 1999, I painted “Thunderbird” large (50″ x 40″) to reflect the awesome power of these important, mythical creatures.   Over the years I have come to understand that thunderbirds can serve as protectors to ward off underworld forces.   Although not aware of it at the time this Thunderbird flowed from my brush, I can see now that protective nature echoed in the composition of this painting.
