Created in 1994, “Bridging Time” was my first petroglyph painting. In 1993, I had the opportunity to experience rock art for the first time, at Legend Rock, Wyoming. After photographing that site extensively, I studied those photographs repeatedly over the next year. These ancient petroglyphs stirred a deep curiosity and finally caused me to ask the question, ‘I wonder if I can paint something like that.” An informational brochure at the site states that a leash, in a metaphysical sense, may connote a connection between spiritual and physical realms. The intrigue of that crack and the challenge for people though all time to connect with our spiritual selves ultimately caused me to put brush to paper. This is the catalyst for my artistic journey.
